Drive times below are from our St Paul's Bay office in ordinary traffic. Allow more in August, and more again if you stop for a swim — which you will.
Valletta
Baroque streets, harbour views and the Upper Barrakka Gardens. Park at Floriana and walk in.
Mdina
The Silent City. Best just after sunset, when the day-trip coaches have gone home.
Golden Bay
The west-coast beach worth the drive. Stay for the sunset over the headland.
Ċirkewwa & Gozo
The ferry terminal for Gozo. Take the car across — the island deserves more than a day.
Marsaxlokk
Painted luzzu boats and the Sunday fish market. Go early, eat late.
Blue Grotto
Sea caves on the southern cliffs. The viewpoint above Wied iż-Żurrieq is free and unbeatable.

Ask us directlyWhich side of the road does Malta drive on?
The left, as in the UK, Ireland and Cyprus. Roundabouts run clockwise. Roads are narrow and junctions come up quickly, so give yourself the first hour to settle in.
What licence do I need?
A full, valid licence held for at least two years. EU and UK licences are accepted as they are. Licences issued outside the EU should be accompanied by an International Driving Permit — bring both.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, and it varies by vehicle class. Tell us the driver's age when you enquire and we'll confirm exactly what applies to the car you want, along with any young-driver terms, before you commit.
Can I take the car to Gozo?
Absolutely, and we'd encourage it. The Gozo Channel ferry runs from Ċirkewwa to Mġarr through the day and you drive straight on. Just let us know so we can talk you through the crossing.
How does the deposit and insurance work?
Every rental includes basic cover, with the option to reduce your excess. The deposit depends on the class of car and the cover you choose. Both figures are stated in writing in your quote — never introduced at the desk.
Do you deliver to hotels?
Yes. We deliver and collect across Malta, including hotels, apartments and the Gozo ferry terminal. Tell us where you're staying and we'll arrange a time.
What if my flight is delayed?
Give us your flight number when booking and we'll monitor it. If you land late, someone will still be there with the keys — at no extra charge.
